The Gujarat State Warehousing Corporation established under the Warehousing Corporation Act, 1962 on 05th December 1960. We are providing scientific storage facility throughout the state of Gujarat.

The Reserve Bank of India in the year 1950 appointed the All India Rural Credit Survey Committee which in its report in 1954, recommended interalia setting up or a Warehousing Agency in the Public Sector backed by Government. Besides recommending a whole set of measures, it also advocated of easy institutional credit against the Warehouse Receipt. As per its recommendations the Parliament passed the Agricultural Produce (Development and Warehousing) Act, 1956 which was repeated and replaced by the Warehousing Corporation Act, 1962.

The Gujarat State Warehousing Corporation thus came into existence on 5-12-1960, while Bombay State was bifurcated into two states Viz. Maharashtra State and the Gujarat State.
