| Brief history of Corporation and its formation | ||||||
| Soil and water conservation works in the state were previously carried out by the agriculture Department. However, in view of importance of the work, its contribution to the development of the state, utility of the farmers and also with a view to bring benefits and tempo in the work, the State Government, after careful consideration decided to create separate organization for the purpose. In pursuance to the decision, the Gujarat State Land Development Corporation Ltd. was established in March 1978. In the beginning the corporation was entrusted with the work of ravine land improvement scheme, but thereafter work of entire area except command areas was entrusted to the corporation with the object to coordinate work on water shed basis through out the state. | ||||||
